The new Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band sponsored by Glenfiddich has received news from the RSPBA that it is to be graded as grade 1. The band will only perform at the World Pipe Band Championships in 2008. The Pipe Major of the band, Roddy MacLeod said he was delighted with the news and was looking forward to the challenge.
Roddy MacLeod, Principal of the National Piping Centre will be doing a piobaireachd recital at The South Beach Hotel, Troon on Friday 11th of April at 8pm.

Willie McCallum was this years overall winner of the Donald MacLeod Memorial Competition. He was placed first in the MSR, 3rd in the piobaireachd event and 4th in the Hornpipe & Jig. The competition was held in the Seaforth Hotel, Stornoway last Friday.

The annual Donald MacLeod Memorial Piping Competition which is organised by the Lewis and Harris Piping Society is to be held in the Seaforth Hotel, Stornoway on Friday 4th April. Pipers competing include Angus MacColl, Alasdair Gillies, William McCallum, Iain Speirs, Gordon Walker, Jack Lee, Richard Hawke, Stuart Liddell and Roddy MacLeod.
