CLASP has secured another all expenses paid trip to NEW York to play at the Metro Cup amateur competition. This prize will be presented to the Grade 1 overall winner at the ‘World Solo Amateur Piping Competition’ on August 15th. Thanks to Eric & Maureen Stein for this kind donation.

Douglas Murray of Fife was yesterday’s winner of the Edinburgh Knockout Competition. The knockout which is held in the Scots Guards club in Haymarket, saw another big turn out yesterday. The crowd was not disappointed with some fine piping from both Angus MacColl and Douglas Murray.
The final recital in the National Piping Centre recital series takes place this Thursday, 22nd May. The guest recitalists are Angus MacColl and Gordon Walker, so this is a show not to be missed!
Tickets are £8 adults/£6 concession and are available from the National Piping Centre shop in person, the online shop or on 0141 353 0220.
The first Northern Irish pipe band competition was held yesterday at Banbridge high school.

The Final of the Edinburgh Knockout will be held tomorrrow 18th May in the Scots Guards Club Edinburgh at 4pm. Douglas Murray will play against Angus MacColl and this promises to be a great days piping where the audience votes decides the winner. Stay tuned for the results.

The dates for the 2008 Munich Piping and Drumming school (Germany) have been confirmed. The school will start on Sunday 9th November until Thursday 13th of November. There will also be a recital by the instructors held on Thursday night 13th of November.
More information will be available on the website in the next couple of weeks.
