Head of Piping Studies BA(Scottish Music-Piping)

The National Piping Centre is currently seeking a replacement for Dr Simon McKerrell in the role of Head of Piping Studies for the BA (Scottish Music –Piping). After some consideration Dr McKerrell has decided to vacate this position in August of this year in order to pursue further opportunities in academic research and performance. Principal of the National Piping Centre, Roddy MacLeod said that he and the Board of the Centre were very disappointed that they could not persuade Dr McKerrell to continue in this position as he has been extremely successful in this role.

The remit of this post has expanded very quickly and it is expected that there will be 20 full time first study students and five second study students following the degree course offered in collaboration with RSAMD as of October. In addition the new Study Abroad semester programme offered in partnership with Glasgow University has attracted 14 North American students in its first full year and the trend is expected to continue.
