Brian Donaldson wins this year’s Donald MacDonald Quaich. Brian from Newburgh, Fife, is the 22nd holder of this prestigious trophy. The event, sponsored by Glenfiddich, takes place at the Clan Donald Centre, Armadale, Skye.
Four top pipers are invited to each play a Piobaireachd in a setting by Donald MacDonald who was born on Skye and died in 1840.
Brian played “The Groat”, Euan MacCrimmon “The Rout of Glenfruin”, Innes Smith “The Massacre of Glencoe” and Stuart Liddell played “John Garbh MacLeod of Raasay’s Lament”.
