Field Marshal took their nineth Cowal Championships yesterday in Dunoon. St Laurence O Toole from Dublin won the Champion of Champions with House of Edgar Shotts and Dykehead taking the Drumming Champion of Champions.

Enrolments are now being taken for the new term of piping and drumming evening classes here at the National Piping Centre. The new term commences week beginning Saturday 6th September and runs for 15 weeks, finishing on Thursday 18th December.

The annual Piping Live Quartet Competition was held in the Royal Concert Hall Glasgow. It was a very well attended event and the six bands involved did not dissapoint. The quartets had to perform both an MSR and Medley section. The event was judged by 9 secret judges in the audience and the Scottish Power quartet came out on top.
