Roddy MacLeod wins Silver Chanter competition

Roddy MacLeod, Principal of the National Piping Centre, has won this year’s Silver Chanter competition. The 42nd MacCrimmon Memorial Piobaireachd Recital took place on 6 August 2008 and was judged by Iain MacFadyen. Recitalists were competing to receive the coveted Silver Chanter trophy.

Roddy MacLeod’s winning performed the piobaireachd “Lament for Donald Doughal Mackay” to win for the fifth time.

Other recitalists were Gordon Walker, Simon McKerrell, Glenn Brown, Angus MacColl and Neil Matheson.
