We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work independently and diversely across all the elements of museum work from collections care to marketing and museum planning, to help develop ideas for this small museum and what it can offer to our visitors that will provide short and longer term improvements.

The museum collection is on loan to the National Piping Centre from the National Museums Scotland.  No staff from the National Museums are based at the venue.  This is, therefore, an opportunity to not only develop your understanding of a small independent museum, but also be involved in the day-to-day operation of the partnership with National Museums Scotland.

When required:
This is a voluntary role (work experience placement) and will initially be for a period of 6 months, with review after 3 months for at least 2 days per week (or equivalent), starting in February 2009.
