Archie Kenneth Quaich Results 2009

 The seventeenth annual competition for amateur piobaireachd players for the Archie Kenneth Quaich was held in the relaxed atmosphere of The Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society’s rooms in Edinburgh on Saturday 7th March 2009.   The Piobaireachd Society sponsors the competition.

There was a good entry of 22 players and the competition was judged by Dr Jack Taylor, President of the Piobaireachd Society, and Mr Roddy MacLeod, Principal of The National Piping Centre.

The results were as follows:

1st Alan Forbes, Edinburgh, playing “The Mackays’ Banner”
2nd Alastair MacQueen, Rothesay, playing “I am Proud to play a Pipe”
3rd Colin MacNeill, Edinburgh, playing “Lament for Donald of Laggan”
4th John Frater, Darlington, playing “MacNeill of Barra’s March”
