Don’t forget to mark up your diary for The Gathering’s International Invitational Solo Piping Competition to be held in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on the 26th of July. Competitors include Willie McCallum, Bruce Gandy, Angus MacColl, P/M Gordon Walker, Greg Wilson, Niall Stewart, Stuart Liddell and Euan MacCrimmon. The competition is to be held in a purpose built marquee and features Piobaireachd, MSR and Hornpipe and Jig events. The Fear An Tighe will be Malcolm McRae. On the same day their will be a “Pipe Idol” competition for younger pipers – more later. Don’t miss a great days piping at this unique event to celebrate Homecoming 2009.
