The National Piping Centre, Glasgow presents The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland on their return to the Glasgow stage, in their brand new show “Illumination.” Its THIS SATURDAY 23rd April – so make sure you get your tickets!This show will feature the best young pipers and drummers in the country performing a variety of traditional and contemporary music infused with the NYPBoS twist. They will be performing some numbers for the very first time which will include a traditional March, Strathspey and Reel, Pachelbel’s Kannon, a quartet called “Cragie’s Wee Skirl which has been composed by band member Colin Greeves and a piece of music entitled”1915” which is a suite dedicated to the many soldiers who have lost their lives due to war.
The “illuminating” part of the concert will be a fantastic lighting show. This will be a major feature of the concert as for the first time the band will be incorporating lots with spectacular lighting displays designed specifically to fit the music. The band has been working closely with Adrian Turpin, a Glasgow based lighting designer who has previously worked on shows for Runrig, who looks forward to helping the NYPBoS explore different avenues of making the bands concert more visually entertaining.
