Chatsworth Country Fair – Solo Piping 2013

Saturday, 31 August 2013 – Adult Amateur, CLASP Grades 1, 2 & 3 and Juvenile Contests

Sunday, 1 September 2013 – Open, B & C Contests (B & C Contests included in CPA League Tables)

In response to feedback from competitors last year, the Chatsworth Solo Piping arrangements have been further revised with all adult amateur and juvenile contests to be held on Saturday and all professional contests on Sunday.

On Saturday the prizes will comprise vouchers from The National Piping Centre and College of Piping who once again are supporting the adult amateur and juvenile contests respectively.

On Sunday, separate Open, B and C contests – Piobaireachd, 6/8 March, 2/4 March, Strathspey & Reel and Hornpipe & Jig – are to be held with prize money of £1,265, £650 and £450 respectively available.

Chatsworth Country Fair is held over 3 days, and always on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following the August Bank Holiday. Held in the park of Chatsworth House, home to the Dukes of Devonshire, the 2013 event will be the 32nd Country Fair. It has become one of the largest events of its type in England, and is an essential part of the Derbyshire and Midlands calendar. Given good weather, crowds of around of 90,000 people are expected over the three days. The focus of the Show is the Grand Ring on the “big flat”, with over 300 trade stands and crafts. Around the park are over 40 showground attractions, many with a country theme.
