John Leamy of Co. Claire was the third recipient of the Irish Silver Medal last Saturday in Limerick. Competitors have to submit 4 set tunes from this years Silver Medal list. The judge was Andrew Wright.
10 pipers took part and the results are as follows;

2nd Peter Donnan
3rd Emmet Conway (N. Ireland)
The former winners Piobaireachd was won by Andrew Carlisle, 2nd Jonathan Greenlees, 3rd John Leamy.
The last semi final of the Edinburgh knockout was won on Sunday by Douglas Murray. The Final will be held in the Scots Guards Club Edinburgh on 18th May at 4pm. Douglas Murray will play against Angus MacColl and this promises to be a great days piping where the audience votes decides the winner.
Comunn Phiobaireachd Uibhist agus Bharraidh are holding a piping recital in Nunton Steading, Benbecula on Friday 25th April at 8pm. The recitalist is well known Breton Piper Patrick Molard.
Tickets are £5.
Tea and a Licenced bar available on the night and also a raffle.
Roddy MacLeod, Principal of the National Piping Centre will be doing a piobaireachd recital at The South Beach Hotel, Troon on Friday 11th of April at 8pm.
