The National Piping Centre offers lessons for students of all abilities and ages within its purpose built school.
We offer 50 minute lessons throughout the day (group or individual), evening and weekend classes which are held over three terms and for those who live further afield interactive online lessons are also available.
We provide intensive 1:1 courses which may have an emphasis on playing and performance and for those who wish broader studies a bespoke course may also include a historical and cultural perspective through access to the Museum of Piping, the Highland Library and archive material.
Throughout the year we offer several seasonal piping schools which are led by our world class teachers and cover many aspects of piping including technique, tuning, maintenance, theory and much more.
Tailored pipe band workshops can be arranged on request to suit bands of all grades.
The National Piping Centre works closely with the Royal Conservetoire of Scotland to deliver the BA (Scottish Music-Piping), Masters and Post Graduate studies in musical performance. Furthermore The National Piping Centre offers Study Abroad Semester courses in partnership with the University of Glasgow, St Andrews University and Edinburgh University.
Our aim is to increase the pleasure and involvement in the art of piping, and to raise the overall standards of certified skill and musicianship and for students who wish to attain formal qualifications we can offer Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board examinations some of which are accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
