CLASP – World Solo Amateur Piping Championships

During the Piping Live Festival the CLASP ran grade 3, 2 & 1 amateur solo piping competitions. The venue for the competition was the RSAMD. The overall winner of the Grade 1 was Joshua MacFarlane from Toronto. Joshua received an all expenses paid trip to compete at the Metro Cup in New York which was kindly donated by the organisers Eric and Maureen Stein.

Archie Kenneth Quaich Results 2009

 The seventeenth annual competition for amateur piobaireachd players for the Archie Kenneth Quaich was held in the relaxed atmosphere of The Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society’s rooms in Edinburgh on Saturday 7th March 2009.   The Piobaireachd Society sponsors the competition.

There was a good entry of 22 players and the competition was judged by Dr Jack Taylor, President of the Piobaireachd Society, and Mr Roddy MacLeod, Principal of The National Piping Centre.

Edinburgh Knockout

The Edinburgh Knockout will kick off on Sunday 16th November in the Scots Guards Club Haymarket. The first two pipers going head to head for the audience votes are Margaret Dunn and Kevin MacNulty.  The dates for the other competitors are not yet confirmed but the draw is as follows;
