Apply for the 2017 Balmoral Classic, Pittsburgh USA, by October 17
The Balmoral School Invites Young Pipers and Drummers to its 2017 Competition.
On November 18, 2017, the 11th annual Balmoral Classic, the US Junior Solo Bagpiping and Solo Snare Drumming Championships for entrants 21 years of age or younger, will take place in in Pittsburgh, PA.
Pipers will compete in the Piobaireachd, MSR, and Overall categories. Prizes for the winning pipers include a set of David Naill bagpipes and a set of McCallum bagpipes.
Drumming trophies will be awarded for MSR, Hornpipe/Jig, and Overall. The Overall Winner of the Drumming contest will receive the HTS-800 Premier snare drum donated by Henderson Imports of Traverse City, MI.
Medals, scholarships and additional prizes will be awarded to the first five places in each Piping and Drumming event. The Balmoral School of Piping and Drumming will host the competition.

Highlights of the Balmoral Classic weekend include a Friday night reception and a Saturday night concert featuring Alasdair Fraser, long regarded as Scotland's premier fiddle ambassador, and brilliant Californian cellist Natalie Haas.
