Job Vacancy - Part Time Accountant

The National Piping Centre serves as the international centre of excellence for the Bagpipe. We are currently seeking a part time accounts clerk whose primary function will be Credit Control. There may be some involvement with purchase/sales control. Knowldege of Sage line 50 is essential.This part time role will be on Wednesday and Thursdays each week, 14 hours per week at £8 per hour.

We currently have an available position to join the team as manager of our shop. Ideally applicants will have experience in teh retail sector, have an interest in traditional music and previous experince with the sale and rental of Highland Wear would also be helpful. (more…)

Bagpipe Italian Group 8th International Gathering

Piping Live! 2010 in BBC Alba

It has been confirmed that two Piping Live! 2010 programmes will go out on BBC Alba on Saturday 28th August at 9pm (this Saturday) and Saturday 4th September. So set you Sky Plus/video recorder now to make sure you don’t miss it. But don’t worry even if you do, it will be available on BBC Iplayer shortly after. This is only available to viewers in the UK.

The Piper’s Corner Winter School Partnership

The National Piping Centre is delighted to be a collaborative partner with The Piper’s Corner (www.piperscorner.com) for the 2011 Bruggen Winter Piping and Drumming School, Germany to be held from the 6-13 of February. Instruction for the school will be provided by National Piping Centre instructors and other guest teachers. Students attending the school will receive several hours of instruction per day with additional daily workshops and recitals. Piping and Drumming Examination Board exams will be offered at the school. For enrolments contact David Johnston at davidjohnston@piperscorner.com
