Background: Brought up in Glasgow, Stuart was taught initially through the Boys’ Brigade and then by Sandy MacPherson, brother of Donald MacPherson, and then by Donald himself. Under Donald’s tutelage, Stuart won the Gold Medal for Piobaireachd at the Northern Meeting in Inverness in 1998. He is currently Pipe Major of Torphichen and Bathgate Pipe Band.
