Drum Corporal Louise Augaitis

Louise started drumming at the age of 9 in Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Pipe Band for 2 years. During her time with the band she had the opportunity to play in New York for Tartan Week. She has also played with North Lanarkshire Schools Pipe Band for one year and Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary Pipe Band for one year.

In 2009, she joined The House of Edgar Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band in Grade 1 and is still currently a member. With Shotts, she has been a consistent prize winner throughout all the major championships in the Grade 1 Drumming arena including being a part of the corps to be crowned World Drumming Champions in August 2011. Louise has also been very successful in the solos, achieving many 1st’s and 2nd’s throughout various competitions held during the competition season.

Louise first joined the NYPBoS in 2006 and after a short break from the band rejoined again in 2009. She has been heavily involved in teaching at many of the educational outreach events with the NYPBoS and is also active in teaching local community bands in her spare time. She has enjoyed playing in many concerts and events with the band and most recently enjoyed the bands tour to Switzerland in 2011. She has gained a lot of experience through the youth band and is excited to take on her new role.
