Keith is 19 years old and from Dundee. Piping has always been a strong part of his life and has been playing since he was 10. He has played in many pipe bands over the years; Starting out at the Auchterhouse pipe band (non-competing band, in the local area) then progressing to the Mains of Fintry pipe band a grade 4 where he spend two years learning vital skills. After what seemed like two short years he decided to develop his piping experience and joined at that time the City of Brechin Mercury signs and Designs pipe band. Whilst his two years in the band, the band went from strength to strength gaining two grades in the process. In 2009 Keith joined the Tayside Police pipe band where he soon found himself needing all of his previously gained experience and knowledge. In early 2011 Keith joined the House of Edger Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia pipe band, where he is still a member of today.
Keith has been taught from multiple tutors over the years, but Keith has had one tutor that he has always stuck with since day one, Ian Duncan.
Keith is currently getting ready for Olympic judies in London and deployment to Afghanistan as part of the Reservist Forces. He used to compete regularly in the solos and has won many prizes in the junior and senior completions and many more prizes around the highland game circuit.
After joining the NYPB in 2006, he has played at many concerts throughout Scotland and Europe, and has gained priceless experience through his time in the band. Keith was delighted with his appointed of Pipe Sergeant of the Senior Band.
