Outer Hebrides

Following on from a successful tour in 2012 the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland will be once again bringing its young members to both Stornoway and South Uist to conduct its outreach programme for 2013. The programme will see NYPBoS Senior Band members help teach and collaborate with other young pipers and drummers in the region by conducting workshops and an evening performance. It should be a fantastic opportunity for local pipers and drummers to meet other young musicians from around the country.
Please see below for more information on each workshop and evening performance.

Workshops

Stornoway Outreach
Date: Saturday 21st September 2013
Venue: Nicolson Institute
Time: 10am – 3.30pm

South Uist Outreach
Date: Sunday 22nd September 2013
Venue: TBC
Time: 10pm – 4pm

What to bring:

Pipers are recommended to bring along their practice chanter and bagpipes. If you do not have a full set of pipes yet that is fine as well as long as you have a practice chanter. We will provide music packs for the day but please feel free as well to bring along your own music to reference or if you would like any help with.
Drummers are recommended to bring along their own snare, tenor or bass sticks and practice pads. If you are able to bring a drum along as well that would be great as we will only have a limited number of drums with us on tour.
All attendees are asked to bring with them a packed lunch to have at lunch time for both workshops.
