Retail Sales Assistant/Piper Host wanted for The Bagpipe Shop
The Bagpipe Shop, based within The National Piping Centre, is looking to recruit a new assistant. We are looking for someone dynamic and friendly to join our small team.
Outline of role
There are two parts to this role. The duties for each part are:
Piper Host
The Piper Host will work in the Museum for x2 1 hour tours on Thursday, Friday and Monday and 1 further tour in the morning on Saturdays. You must be confident about delivering presentations to groups, but we will give you full training about our museum.
Duties are:
⢠Play outside for 15minutes before each tour
⢠Welcome guests at the Museum and conduct a tour
⢠Demonstrate the Great Highland Bagpipe and lead a âcome and tryâ session as part of the 1 hour tour
⢠You are required to wear full highland dress for this part of the role
⢠This is from April â September
⢠There may be other requirements as the piper host from marketing and PR
Shop Assistant
This role will lead on from the Piper Host and you will need to do both parts as part of this role. You will be:
⢠Delivering excellent customer service within our shop and front desk
⢠Switchboard operator
⢠Assisting with online sales and website products
⢠Stocktaking
⢠Supporting the team to achieve targets
⢠Ensuring store presentation is of a high standard at all times
Person specification
To come on board you would ideally have the following:
⢠Must be able to competently play, maintain and set up bagpipes
⢠Confident and clear communication skills
⢠Enjoy working with the public
⢠Customer service experience
⢠An interest in traditional music (desirable)
⢠Flexible to work shifts and weekends
⢠Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
