Accommodation for students is in Atwood Hall of Stevenson school. When you arrive you should make yourself known to the summer school staff who will register you and help you check in.
It is not possible to check in to the accommodation prior to 4pm on the 14th of June as the school has another group leaving on that day and the school staff require time to clean and prepare the rooms.
Instructors will be on site at that time and will begin a short audition process with each student as soon as they are organised with their check in arrangements. The process of checking in and auditioning should all be complete between 4pm and 5.30 pm.
Auditions should take no more than 5 minutes and you will be asked about your experience and you will be asked to play your practice chanter or drum pad so that the instructors can make an assessment of your level. There is nothing to be nervous about!
Remember, the weather can be chilly so be sure to bring a sweatshirt and/or jacket. Also, although bedding and towels are provided, feel free to bring your own pillow, blankets, sheets, towels, and soap if you prefer.
From 5.30pm – 6.30 pm students should then have dinner and from 7pm until 7.45 pm there will be an informal instructors recital to round off activities in the first day.
