The Vibratone drone reeds were developed and are manufactured by James Murray and Andrew Mathieson.Unique features on these reeds, is what sets them apart from other brands. The blade has no crease, which gives a constant vibration without weakening. The body of the reed is shaped to allow this. The pitch is adjusted by shortening and lengthening the reed by the means of a threaded stem,and a nut, to lock the reed at a desired pitch, which does not move. The optimum amount of air passes through the reed which makes this reed suitable for the novice , amatuer, professional band or solo piper.
