Breaking with Tradition
Following the recent Royal Wedding, much has been made of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decisions to break with tradition in celebrating their nuptials. From the bride delivering a speech at the reception to picking an upbeat number for their opening dance, and serving a lemon and elderflower sponge rather than the traditional fruit cake, the couple added many of their own flourishes to the celebrations. While tradition is still massively important to many couples planning their wedding, it’s increasingly acceptable for couples to break the rules to add extra meaning to their festivities.
