Meet the Wedding Supplier - Betty Bluebell Florist
This is the second blog in our Meet the Supplier series. Today's guest contributor is Emma from Betty Bluebell, who has been working with us for a wee while now and knows her delphiniums from her chrysanthemums!!
Tell us a bit about yourself and your wedding services
My name is Emma Lawson and I run Betty Bluebell which a studio based florist based in Cambuslang. I am renowned for wedding flowers and I have been involved in making weddings happen for 12 years with a background in hospitality and events management.
How long have you been a wedding florist, and working with us?
I retrained over 2013/2014 and have been full time flowering since January 2015. I started working with TNPC in 2017 providing their flowers for corporate events, Christmas and wedding packages.
What has been your favourite wedding you have worked on here at The National Piping Centre and why?
Helen, TNPCâs Marketing Manager, and Darachâs wedding. Itâs an honour being chosen to play in a role in any coupleâs wedding day, but when youâre picked by someone who works in the industry and sees a lot of weddings itâs always particularly special!
What are the best questions that a couple can ask you about their wedding flowers?
âHow can we best utilise our budget?â Fresh flowers are a luxury product which can transform your wedding; creating scenery, evoking scent and setting your day apart from the rest. Trust is massively important to me, you wonât see your flowers until the day so I need to feel comfortable that Iâm going to turn up with flowers my couples are going to love. Budget is always a stickler of a question - I get it, youâve probably never ordered wedding flowers before! But if you have an overall figure in mind then itâs always helpful to be upfront so I can let you know if itâs realistic for your wishes or suggest alternatives.
Whatâs the best advice you have for future brides & grooms when planning their wedding?
Donât sweat the small stuff. You can put so much thought, effort and budget into little touches that will be largely overlooked by your guests. People will notice one big wow arrangement - they probably wonât notice the tiny vases in the toilets!
Here is a selection of Emma's beautiful work in action on Helen and Darach's big day. Helen had asked for a big, bold bouquet using all the fresh beautiful summer flowers. Photos by Simons Studio Photography.
