Top Tips for a Summer wedding
As we head into May, we are looking ahead to a glorious few months of summer weddings. If you are planning your big day for the summer months, here are our top tips for making it the day of your dreams!
- Consider lighter decor palettes
Winter is over, spring has sprung and now summer is here, so keep fresh, and vibrant by choosing a light colour palette for your decor! Itâll  give you the feeling of keeping cool especially if the weather decides to heat up on the day. Make sure you check with your venue what you can and can't do for decorations, but there are always ways to make it personal and in-keeping with your colour choices.
Â
2. Make your wedding weather-proof
Summer in Scotland can give you a headache when planning for the weather! To make your big day weather-proof, make sure you are equipped to keep hair and make up protected from the potential heatwaves or showers that the weather can throw at us from time to time! Why not try a chic, light jacket to match your dress and some venues can provide white umbrellas for the bridal party - check how your team can help!
Â
3. Try some summer influences when it comes to your meal.
Your wedding breakfast is one of those stand out moments on your big day, so make sure it is memorable and tailor it to the season! Refreshing salads, light main dishes, and fruity desserts can keep your guests feeling full but not needing a disco nap before they throw shapes at your evening reception. Our signature Cranachan is the perfect blend of raspberries, cream and just a touch of whisky for a great summer dessert!Â
Â
4. Make your favours seasonal AND practical!Â
Favours are fun little gestures to give your guests to tie in with your summer theme but also show your appreciation. Making them practical can make them even more special too! Little water bottles, fans, and tissues can go along way if the weather decides to get a bit warmer and keep you and your guests cool as cucumbers! You could also consider having a "comfort basket" in the bathrooms, which along with all the necessaries for the day that might keep your guests feeling fresh, could include suncream and flip flops - perfect for cooling feet and hitting the dance floor later in the evening!
