How to avoid the post-wedding blues
Now that weddings are back on and some sort of normality has returned, weddings are happening left, right and centre. But if you have had an even longer wait than expected to get hitched and feel like its flashed before your eyes, hereâs a few tips to avoid feeling down that its all over!
Continue the celebration
Having something to look forward to after your main ceremony can be a welcomed distraction and a great mood booster for after the big day. Try a post-wedding brunch party with your closest, a romantic honeymoon or a stretching out your wedding across a weekend to enjoy the moment rather than focus on it ending!
Â
Create great momento's in your homeÂ
There will be plenty of photos, cards and other keep sakes from your wedding that you may not know was to do with. Starting a project that links to your big day can make you feel productive and less down as you will have something amazing to remember all the fun memories you, your significant other, your family and friends made together. Try a scrapbook or frame your favourites or make a film of all the videos captured if you havenât already.
Â
Plan a monthly date nightÂ
No matter how busy you both are, setting time aside to go and do something fun together every month is great to do to celebrate your marriage each other. Maybe go to the place you went on your first date or where the proposal happened, quality time together is perfect to chat about the wedding and all the planning you both did that made it work!
Â
Reminisce with your significant other, friends and family
Getting together with those that attended your wedding is great fun and allows you to think back to the funny, beautiful and exciting moments of the wedding. You can also visit other relatives the maybe couldnât make it (online or in person) to make them feel part of the experience and show your appreciation for them even though they couldnât make it on the day.
