When we talk about weddings, we speak of couples having the happiest day of their lives, where everything goes perfectly for them as they embark upon married life. Is this realistic? The evidence would suggest perhaps not. With 96% of couples stating they were stressed out by wedding planning, it seems that the pressure of living up to the fairytale gets to almost everyone. Wedding planning is widely considered to be a stressful task at the best of times but for the 1 in 5 of us who experience mental health issues, this pressure can be suffocating. Of course, your wedding should be a happy occasion, and to make sure you experience it as such, it’s vitally important to look after yourself while planning.
