We teach all age groups and abilities in our beautiful listed building located in Glasgow. We also teach in schools around Scotland and our reach extends globally through the use of technology with online lessons. Working in conjunction with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, we deliver a BA with Honours (Scottish Music – Piping), and ‘Study Abroad’ programmes with Glasgow and Edinburgh universities.

Always a flurry of piping activity, the National Piping Centre runs amateur piping competitions, hosts recital evenings and is home to the world renowned and internationally acclaimed Piping Live! festival. We also house a library and the Museum of Piping, which we operate in conjunction with the National Museum of Scotland.

The NPC is proud to have established and continues to run one of the most exciting projects in youth music, the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland. The NYPBoS is a non-competitive performance band made up of the best young pipers and drummers from around the country. The band entertains audiences both at home and abroad and is an excellent ambassador for Scotland and its musical traditions.

In order to maintain its core educational and project activity, the National Piping Centre relies heavily on the generosity of individuals, organisations and Trusts & Foundations. If you would like to offer your assistance towards keeping the musical and cultural traditions of Scotland alive please DONATE NOW at the paypal button below and support the ongoing activities of The National Piping Centre.
