Homburg Winter School
Welcome to the Homburg Winter School 2019
Dates: 10th - 17th February 2019
Venue: Jugendherberge (youth hostel), Saarland, Germany
The ninth annual Winter School in Homburg will be held at the Jugendherberge (youth hostel) in the town in Saarland, Germany, from 10th - 17th February 2019.
Our teaching team will once again be led by John Wilson, with Willie Park and a host of other National Piping Centre and Guest teachers. Find out who will be teaching here. One of our teachers, James Beaton, will be presenting a talk about Gaelic and Piping and short beginner Gaelic workshops during the school.
We have put together a sample timetable so you can see how the week will be set out. This may change slightly, but gives you an indication of how the school will run.
A residential place on the school is £520 (around €580) per student, based on four people sharing a room.
There are also a limited number of twin rooms available at £625 (around €700) per person, based on two students sharing a room.
Non-residential fee for the week is £420 (around €470)
This year we have the option for students to pay in full at the time of booking, or secure their place with a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance to be paid before 31st January 2019.
Residential prices include meals, tuition and accommodation. Each student will recieve a PDF downloadable copy of the music pack for this school shortly before the start of the week. You can also purchase printed copy which will be given to you on the first day of the school through the booking form.
The National Piping Centre requires all students to use hearing protection at all times when playing pipes. Hearing protection is available for purchase in our shop.
