Schedule
On arrival
All piping and drummig students will check in from 4pm on Sunday 14th June. At 8am on Monday 15th June an assembly will be held in Hester Hall of the Henkel Building, where students will be given full details of the week and what they can expect. As part of this students will be required to give a brief audition in order to allocate students to the group they will be taught in for the rest of the week. This is not a test but merely gives the teachers a better understanding of you playing ability.
After all the auditions are complete, students will be informed of groupings and then given any other relevant information.
Pipers will also be given a music book ONLY if they have pre-bought one. The music pack will be emailed out to everyone and if students prefer they can print it off for themselves.
Drummers - please do not purchase the music pack, as this is for pipe music only. You will be contacted about drum scores separately.
Mary M. Henkel Hall is shown on the Campus Map: http://www.su.edu/campus-maps/
Lessons
After students have arrived on Sunday 14th June, from Monday 15th - Friday 19th June, you will be taught in a small group with those of similar ability. Lessons will be taught primarily on the practice chanter but of course as the week progresses the emphasis may change to the pipes as required. Please bring along pen/notepad, your practice chanter and pipes (if you have them), drum pad and sticks during the week to take full advantage of the teaching.
