Piping and Drumming Vacancies with the SSPDT
The Scottish Schools Piping Drumming Trust are supporting a number of new vacancies for piping and drumming teachers across Scotland. These two are now open for applications:
Larkhall Schools - Bagpipe/ Chanter and Snare Drum Tutors Vacancy
An opportunity has arisen for a Chanter/ Bagpipe tutor and a Snare Drum tutor to teach during the school day at Larkhall Academy and nine associated primary schools and to develop a schools pipe band. Funding has been secured by the Larkhall Youth Pipes and Drums Association to meet the costs of 12. 5 hours of tuition per week during the school term for both piping and drumming. The roles are on a self-employed basis. The tutors must be able to support pupils to achieve to SCQF Level 6 through the Curriculum for Excellence and the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board (PDQB) and must be able to develop a youth pipe band. Experience of working in schools and with groups of pupils of varying ages and abilities is desirable.
Applications will be by CV and covering letter. Closing date for applications is Sunday 9th June. Interviews will be held on 21st June and the role will start in the new school year in August.
Elgin and/or Forres Schools - Bagpipe/ Chanter and Snare Drum Tutors Vacancy
An opportunity has arisen for a Chanter/ Bagpipe tutor and a Snare Drumming tutor to teach during the school day in some of the Forres and/ or Elgin primary and secondary schools and to develop a schools pipe band in each location. Applicants may wish to work in one, or in both locations. The roles are on a self-employed basis. The tutors must be able to support pupils to achieve to SCQF Level 6 through the Curriculum for Excellence and the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board (PDQB) and must be able to develop a youth pipe band. Experience of working in schools and with groups of pupils of varying ages and abilities is desirable.
