COVID 19 : The NPC Statement - Updated 03.04.2020
Update 03.04.2020 - Skype Lessons Not Available
Since the closure of The National Piping Centre on Friday 20th March, we have been looking at ways to continue our teaching. However, to be able to continue in the future, The National Piping Centre has taken the tough decision to suspend all skype lessons for the forseeable future. This is due to the government legislation to take up the furlough payments. As a charity we have had to take this sad decision in the best interests of our staff.
This is incredibly disappointing news for us to share with you, but it was the only decision we could take to ensure our future. In the meantime our teachers would encourage you to keep up the work on your practice chanters, listen to whatever great piping you can, look at new tunes and brush up on your favourites.
We’ll continue to follow the advice of the UK Government and relevant local and global health authorities and will keep you updated as to when we will re-open to staff and the public. We will continue to keep you updated and when we do reopen, we hope you will come and see us soon.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
