The Greenville Scottish Games in South Carolina is gearing up to welcome a royal guest to the event in May.
Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, will be attending the event and, apart from Braemar, it’s thought to be the first Highland games officially visited by a senior member of the royal family.
Up to 40 pipe bands will be involved in the celebrations on May 28 and 29 which include a Great Scot! parade and around 80 competitors battling it out in the games in front of a crowd of around 15,000.
