The Maket Collective was established in 2024 to promote and amplify the voice and talent of women and girls within our piping & drumming community. Through our Collective Ambassadors, conversations & targeted events we are striving to create a positive creative space, where our community can find inspiration and empowerment.

Our Collective
Our Collective is made up of 13 inspiring women from our piping and drumming community. Our ambassador’s are from all over the world and all have a unique experience and approach to their artform.
In developing the Collective we hope to create a space where women and girls can see themselves. This is crucial in ensuring they have access to inspirational role models to advance their own skill. We also hope to normalise the idea of women and girls playing pipes & drums within our community and the broader public.
Our Events
Maket Collective Recital Series
Gender imbalance can be seen across our piping and drumming community. Online, this means there is a lack of performance videos by women, especially those of high quality by professional female pipers. We believe recordings are essential in enabling women and girls to see themselves represented, creating visibility and providing inspiration.
The Maket Collective Recital Series is a step towards achieving gender equity within performance opportunities, recording productions and online visibility. With the support of TradTv, we are creating high quality recordings of professional female pipers that are freely available for public viewing. By creating women-centred content we hope to empower current and future generations of women to dream and strive for their highest potential.

The Maket Collective is returning for the third time to Piping Live this August! With three female-led & presented events that put women in the performance spotlight and enable wanted conversations from our community.
