Our Space
Located within our historic McPhater Street venue in Glasgow’s city centre, The National Piping Centre’s Auditorium is a welcoming, purpose-built performance space designed with musicians in mind.
Acoustically balanced and beautifully intimate, it’s the perfect setting for everything from piping recitals and traditional music concerts to chamber performances, talks, and recordings. With tiered seating for up to 120 guests, professional lighting and backstage facilities, it offers both comfort and quality for performers and audiences alike.
Rooted in Scotland’s musical heritage but open to the world, our stage is a home for tradition, creativity, and connection.

We offer full hire or dry hire options to suit your event’s needs.
Included as standard:
- Use of our intimate, acoustically designed Auditorium with tiered or level seating for up to 120
- Professional lighting installation, including stage lights and ambient uplighters
- Access to a private bar, ideal for interval drinks and post-show gatherings
- Optional ticket desk setup in the foyer for walk-ups or box office support
- Use of the backstage green room and dressing space
Available as extras:
- Experienced sound technician on request
- Opportunities to sell merchandise or promotional material in the foyer

Our performance space offers flexible hire packages to suit a wide range of events — from intimate recitals and album launches to full-scale concerts.
- Evening dry hire starts from £650, giving you exclusive access to the auditorium, lighting, private bar, and front-of-house areas.
- Full-service packages are also available, including technical support, ticketing, and staffing, tailored to your specific requirements.
