The STAND project
Welcome to The STAND Project, an allyship project that aims to reach into community spaces to provide support and create dialogue around diversity in the piping and drumming community.
The Women in Piping and Drumming: Equality, Inclusivity, and Diversity survey results reported seven key themes from the data gathered. These were:
- lack of representation and visibility of women in piping and drumming
- lack of community for women
- male-dominated environments
- lack of accountability for sexism
- the contribution of alcohol in the creation of uncomfortable environments
- Progress has been made
- No issues – many respondents reported they had no negative experiences
In response to these key themes we ask you to pledge your support to STAND with every member of the piping and drumming community.
Here you can pledge to stand with all members of the piping and drumming community, stand up for everyone in the community, and stand against discrimination.
- Stand up against discrimination in any form
- Stand behind all community members and offer support to them
- Stand for all members of the piping & drumming community as there is space for everyone here.
To show your support for this pledge and The Stand Project, please collect your free pin badge from The National Piping Centre. Or you can order them online, you just pay the postage.
Thank you for being part of the STAND project and helping to support the whole community within piping and drumming.
