Intensive Courses

The National Piping Centre offers Intensive courses for pipers of any age.

This course consists of 15 one-to-one lessons of 50 minute duration taken over five days, normally Monday - Friday. This course is tailored to suit you and you can request specific topics that you wish to concentrate on.

As the name suggests, these weeks of tuition can be quite intensive and as such may not be suitable for absolute beginners, or those just starting to learn to play. However, if you have want to discuss your playing standard to see if this course would be right for you please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. To make a booking, please complete the online booking form and you will then be contacted by The National Piping Centre to confirm the dates as per the form or to suggest alternatives. We can also try to take into account which teachers you would like to be taught by.

The Intensive Courses are available throughout the year with a few exceptions. We cannot take a course when we have an internal or possibly an external school, during the week of Piping Live! or between Christmas and New Year.

Hearing Protection

The National Piping Centre requires all students to use hearing protection at all times when playing pipes. Hearing protection is available for purchase in our shop or free of charge from the earplug dispenser in both our piping school venues.
